Pathway to Becoming an SSI Professional
If you are considering becoming an SSI Professional here are the courses you will need to take, assuming you are already Open Water certified. However, courses are not the only requirement. You will must have a minimum number of logged dives to complete the professional-level courses. The minimum number to complete the course will be in parenthesis after the course title. Science of Diving
In this course, you will learn about the physics, physiology, oceanography, decompression theory, and total diving system, all associated with scuba diving. The Science of Diving Specialty course is scheduled as needed, call for dates. The course fee, including digital training materials: $150.00
Dive Guide
(50 logged dives) This is the first professional-level course in which you will learn to guide divers on underwater tours. The Dive Guide course is scheduled as needed, call for dates. The course fee, including digital training materials: $814.00. The fee includes the $100.00 SSI registration fee. Purchase the Science of Diving and the Dive Guide course together and save $50.00.
Open Water Scuba Instructor
(100 logged dives) With this certification, you will be able to teach many different scuba courses. The Instructor course is scheduled as needed, call for dates. The course fee, including digital training materials: $1450.00. The fee does not include the Instructor Evaluation.
